A Little Of This, A Little Of That

Hello, and welcome! Thanks for surfing to TODAYSWORLD.COM.AU
A real good tip for you!
Did you know that by pushing the Windows flag on your keyboard (on the bottom row - wither side-the little wavy flag key) and pushing the "M" on your keyboard at the same time, you will go from whatever program you are on to your Windows Desktop (Mac users ignore this - I think ( I know nothing whatsoever about Mac). Great tool

As reported by the American Bird Conservancy, an extremely rare species of a tiny owl has been seen in the wild for the very first time. One of the world's smallest, this long-whiskered owlet was first discovered in 1976 and captured in the dark with nets; but has not actually been seen in nature until February when it was spotted by researchers in Peru's northern jungle.
The American Bird Conservancy, referring to the sighting as being is "considered a holy grail of South American ornithology," said in a news release that researchers saw the owlet three times during the day and recorded its call (give a hoot) frequently at night
Due to the long wispy feathers around its reddish-orange eyes (see picture) which are so distinct from other owls, the little critter has been named in its own genus "Xenoglaux," which means "strange owl."
"Strange", indeed, but also mighty cute, wouldn't you say?

From Janice in Novato, CA and thank you Janice:
Two elderly friends, Bill and Sam, met in the park every day to feed the pigeons, watch
the squirrels and discuss world problems. One day Bill didn't show up. Sam didn't think much about it and figured maybe he had a cold or something. But after Bill hadn't shown up, but after a week or so, Sam really got worried. However, since the only time they ever got together was at the park, Sam didn't know where Bill lived, so he was unable to find out what had happened to him.
A month had passed, and Sam figured he had seen the last of Bill, but one day, Sam approached the park and -- lo and behold! --there sat Bill! Sam was very excited and happy to see him and told him so. Then he said, "For crying out loud Bill, what in the world happened to
you?"
Bill replied, "I have been in jail."
"Jail?" cried Sam. "What in the world for?"
"Well," Bill said, "you know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress at the coffee shop where we sometimes go?"
"Yeah," said Sam, "I remember her. What about her?"
"Well, one day she filed rape charges against me; and, at 89 years old, I was so proud that
when I got into court, I pleaded 'guilty' and the judge gave me 30 days for perjury."

Good News:
Panamanian police seized a boat off the nation's Pacific coast carrying 19.4 metric tons of cocaine in one of the biggest maritime cocaine busts anywhere on record, officials said Monday.
Police (Panamanian National and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency) seized the boat and its contraband on Sunday, March 18, 2007) near the island of Coiba reported a police official who wished to rename nameless as he "was not authorized to speak on the record."
Reportedly, 12 men were arrested on the boat and two more in Panama City.
The boat was sailing under a Panamanian flag on its way into Panama City and was on its
way to Panama City when seized ac according to the unnamed official.
Reportedly Colombian drug cartels often smuggle their goods along Panama's coast en route to the United States.
This is not the biggest seizure of cocaine: the U.S. Coast Guard in 2004 seized 28 tons of the stuff from two fishing boats off the coast of the Galapagos Islands in what the U.S. State Department then described the largest seizures ever during a one-week-span.
My thoughts:
Good going, guys. Cocaine has ruined too many people and families and ways of life. Let's stop it all from getting out of Columbia - it's really insidious stuff..

Thanks for stopping by
I'm trying to get in a mindset for a puppy;
my daughter has one I'm to pick up anytime now;
this after saying good-bye last month to one of the best dogs
in the world, who left us after a long life, much love,
and much good company...
Ah, well, as I said, a puppy,
a chewing, messing-up, sassy puppy,
good grief, Wendi....

Such a positive thought
I have to drive to another state to pickup the beast,
and it looks like Kate has done the naming, Sassy being more
than an attitude.
Should be an interesting new 15 year or so committment...
If she is anything like her parents we'll need patience, prayers and
well-wishes.
