NEWS:
The chase for the SuperBowl Championship has dwindled down to four teams; the Chicago Bears, the Indianapolis Colts, the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.
The games this Sunday will decide who will go to the SuperBowl, with the Patriots playing the Colts and the Bears playing the Saints. It will all finally be decided on Sunday February 4, with Sunday’s winners then playing in the SuperBowl on Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Miami, Florida.

This the biggest single sporting event in the US and is followed by a large percentage of the US population and, I believe, a goodly portion of the rest of the world. All followed by the anti-climatic ProBowl played in Hawaii the following week. Then no more football (of the US variety) until next season starting in July-August 2007.

NEWS:
President Bush has more or less challenged Congress regarding his proposal to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq. On “60 Minutes” he made the statement “frankly, that's not their responsibility. It's my responsibility to put forward the plan that I think will succeed. I believe if they start trying to cut off funds, they better explain to the American people and the soldiers why their plan will succeed,"
Some Democrats, including Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy, have called on Congress to block Bush from committing more troops to Iraq, either by limiting the number of troops that can be committed or by cutting off funds for further deployments.
VIEWS:
So, Bush thinks an explanation "to the American people”is necessary. One might ask him what’s his explanation for the seemingly utter failure of his plans so far, mightn't one?
