Cats that save humans, snakes banging their heads, weather out of control..........

NEWS:
Indian police in Noida, India (about 20 km/12mi from Delhi) found the clothes and skeletons of at least four- and possibly many more - children below the age of 12 years. This gruesome discovery came after a man confessed to killing six children after sexually abusing them.
The police said that six children had gone missing in the area within the last year.

What a chilling piece of information this is - this is a dangerous world and a really tough place to raise our children.

I really don’t know what to say. I do wish, when you are looking for news items you would leave out the awful ones concerning children.
Then again, I know you. I know you wish that, by reporting such a horrible thing, you are trying to somehow alert people, so such a thing can’t ever happen again.

Allegro di Wolfgang Mozart, a recently discovered 18th-Century keyboard work believed to be one of the earliest by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been performed in Austria. It is believed that Mozart was between the ages of 6 and 10 when he wrote the piece.

More than two million Muslims have taken part in a prayer ceremony on Mount Arafat, Saudi Arabia- one of the main events in the annual pilgrimage to Mecca known as the Hajj.
New safety measures have been added since January 2006 when almost 400 people were injured and approximately 300 were injured during a stampede during a ritual.
All Muslims, if physically and financially able are required to make at least one pilgrimage during their lifetime.

Colorado is suffering its 2nd major snowstorm in a week as the foothills were buried in 28 inches of snow with Denver getting about 16 inches. Last week Denver saw about 2 feet of snow. Major highways and the Denver airport were again shut down with hundreds of flights again bring cancelled. The National Weather Service warned of high winds potentially causing white-outs.

Scientists say a giant and ancient ice shelf approximately 66 square kilometers (41 square miles) has broken loose in the Canadian Arctic. This occurred about 16 months ago, but there was no one at the remote location to see it. It was discovered using satellite images and has formed a giant ““ice island.””
This event is believed to be the result of Global Warming.
VIEWS:
66 square kilometers is equal to 11 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide of 8 miles x 5 miles of newly formed ice island. When is it going to become public knowledge, and belief, that the Global Warming problem is real and growing?

Scientists in China say they have come up with a new earthquake prediction system involving snakes. Experts at China’’s earthquake bureau who monitor snakes’ behavior at local snake farms say that snakes are perhaps the most sensitive to earthquakes of all creatures on Earth.
Snakes have been observed leaving their nests when an earthquake is about to occur and even smashing their heads into walls prior to the ““Big One.””

Snakes are a delicacy in China. This writer has never tasted snake but is told that it, at least the rattlesnake, tastes like chicken. If snakes are truly aware of upcoming earthquakes, mankind could greatly benefit by taking heed to this reptiles’’ unusual behavior.

In Cairns, Australia a family cat woke up its owner to alert him of a fire before the smoke alarms could sound. The cat did it’s deed by scratching the face of its sleeping master who then was able to wake the rest of the family and get them out safe.
A fire service spokesman was quoted: "There were alarms throughout the house, but the smoke saturation hadn't reached a point where they'd activated the alarms in the adjacent room," The home suffered only minor damage as a result of the cat’’s quick thinking.
